Match scoreboard on Apple Watch: sets, games and points live

Three steps, zero paper

From stepping onto the court to the score on your phone.

  1. 1

    Pick a match

Your watch knows your upcoming league and tournament matches. Not on the list? Start a quick match with one tap.

  2. 2

    Record points

One tap per point. The watch counts games, sets and tiebreaks for you, from a regular match to a super tiebreak.

  3. 3

Your score lands on your phone

After the last ball, the score is waiting in the app along with your stats, no copying from a piece of paper.

Point-by-point stats

Every point has a story

After each rally, the watch asks on a single screen how the point ended. Four buttons, one tap, or "Skip" when you don't want to be distracted. That builds stats you could never count from memory.

  • Ace A serve the opponent never touched.
  • Winner A finishing shot that can't be returned.
  • Forced error A point lost under pressure from the opponent.
  • Unforced error A ball given away by your own mistake.

After the match you see:

  • aces, winners and errors: how many times a point ended each way
  • first serve
  • match score, set by set

You set the level of detail on your phone: full, basic, or off.

Point type screen: Ace, Winner, Forced error, Unforced error

Watch questions

Which watches does Tenisime support?

Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later, Wear OS 3 or later watches (such as Samsung Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch), and Garmin watches with Connect IQ from model year 2020: Forerunner (including 165, 255, 265, 570, 955, 965, 970), Fenix (7, 8, 9 and E), Epix 2, Enduro, Instinct (2, 3 and E), Venu (2, 3, 4, Sq 2 and X1) and vivoactive (4S, 5 and 6). Older Garmins don't have enough memory for the scorer. The full list of models is in the Connect IQ Store.

How do I install Tenisime on my watch?

On Apple Watch and Wear OS, the watch works with the Tenisime app on your phone (same package, same account). On a Garmin, you install the app from the Connect IQ Store (in the Garmin Connect app on your phone), open it on the watch, and enter the six-digit code it shows in the Tenisime app, under Profile, in the "Garmin watch" section.

Which match formats are on the watch?

Apple Watch and Wear OS have eight formats: a standard match (first to 2 sets), a first-to-3-sets match, a single set, short sets to 4 games, a super tiebreak only, 2 sets with a super tiebreak instead of a third, a pro set to 8 games, and tiebreaks to 10. On Garmin you can pick from four by hand: a standard match, a single set, 2 sets plus a super tiebreak, and a super tiebreak only. Garmin scores another format when a league or tournament match requires it.

Do I need my phone with me?

Not on court. You score the match on the watch, and the result goes into a queue and joins the app once the watch reconnects to your phone (on Garmin, through Garmin Connect and the internet). The watch gets upcoming league and tournament matches from your phone.

What happens to the score after the match?

Your phone shows "Watch result" (with a "Later" button) and reminds you with a notification. You attach the score to a match from your calendar or create a new match from it. Whether the match affects your ELO rating depends on its type: ranked matches count toward ELO, friendly ones don't.

Which stats does the watch record?

It depends on the "Watch statistics" mode in Profile. "Off": the watch records only the score. "Basic": ace, double fault, winner and error. "Full": forced and unforced errors separately. A separate "Post-point options" setting decides whether the picker disappears on its own after 3 seconds or stays until you choose or skip.

How much does the watch scorer cost?

The watch scorer is part of the free core of the app, with no separate fee. Optional Premium raises the AI Coach limits (for example a game plan for the watch), but it isn't needed to score a match.
